Why are Greenland Gardener Raised Garden Beds better than wooden raised garden beds?
Wooden beds will rot and deteriorate over time. Further, the chemicals used in treated lumber can be toxic. Using treated lumber beds puts the soil you are using to grow your fruits, vegetables and flowers in direct contact with these chemicals which could possibly seep into the soil.
How much soil do I need per Greenland Gardener Raised Garden Bed?
You will need seven cubic feet of soil per bed. This usually translates seven bags of soil per garden bed.
Do I need to use weed barrier between the ground and the soil in my Greenland Gardener Raised Garden Bed?
While there is no reason you must absolutely use a weed barrier, Greenland Gardener does recommend that some form of weed barrier be used when planting a vegetable, fruit, herb or flower garden. Using a weed barrier will dramatically cut down on the amount of time spent weeding your Greenland Gardener Raised Garden Bed.
Money Saving Tip: Line the floor of your Greenland Gardener Raised Garden Bed with the plastic sacks your planting soil came in, overlapping the edges slightly to keep weeds out.
